The Chapel – its accommodation and facilities

The Old Chapel

The Old Chapel, built in 1876, formerly a Methodist place of worship until January 2008, enjoys a lovely position within the conservation area of Sturminster Marshall. Our village parish is situated on the River Stour, four miles west of Wimborne, between Blandford Forum and Poole and has many of the features one would expect in a Dorset village – thatched cottages, an ancient Church, a good pub, a village school, village greens and even a Maypole! In fact, our Chapel has the enviable position of being situated adjacent to Maypole Green, overlooking the Maypole which is still used annually in traditional village May Day celebrations!

The Old Chapel

As your Dorset luxury holiday cottage, the Chapel will not disappoint! It is furnished to a high standard, decorated tastefully and is well-equipped, combining home comforts with stylish décor. Its sympathetic conversion from the ‘old’ to the ‘new’ has ensured the retention of unique original features which make this property stand out from other Dorset holiday rentals. Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor makes the Chapel a warm, cosy place.

The exterior of the Chapel has not been altered during conversion, mindful of its place in an attractive conservation area. Inside, the transformation from a minimalist Methodist-style shell to a stylish, desirable dwelling is quite stunning!!
